Our Daily Program is simply a list of activities offered to support your detox. However, you will always be encouraged to do what is most appropriate for you. So if you just want to walk, read, or just stay in bed, then we will support you in that. Colonics are NOT essential to the program - if you would rather let nature take its course whilst fasting, you are encouraged to do so. As long as you understand that they make the detox much more efficient. Juice Meals take place four times each day. The more digestibles we take into the body, the less energy is available for detox. Thus, each of these meals throughout the week consist of juices diluted with water. Some elect to maximise the detox by dropping the juice in favour of more water, but this as a personal choice best done after consultation. Supplements are used with the juices in order to promote better detox and productivity for the colonics. These are time-tested, and specific to their job.
What you'll experience on Sura Detox Retreats
Colonic hydrotherapyThe self-administered colonics throughout the retreat are a safe and simple way to aid the detox process. Used in conjunction with supplements and fasting, they leave you with the stronger digestive powers associated with a long, vibrant life. Despite being everyone's major anxiety initially, this simple and safe process is thoroughly explained on the first day, and practiced twice-daily from then on. Everyone is greatly relieved when they get how easy and relaxing this style of colonics are.
Morning Warm-up Exercises & MeditationAmida will start your day with a 20 minute session of Pre Tai chi warm up exercises designed to gently awaken and soften the body through a sequence of movements from the top of the head right down to the toes.
Food Intolerance & CoachingAs a matter of routine, each person is invited to see Kate for a food intolerance test. Kineseology is used here to test a wide variety of food stuffs, and determine whether some of them may be causing problems for you. Later in the week, there will be opportunity to go much deeper with Kate. Her work as a homeopath and life coach offers the space and time to understand where you are in your life, and what is keeping you from further fulfillment. Once you know where you are, there comes the possibility to embrace your integrity; live with greater authenticity, and to gain a true perspective on how to move into the future you want.
Afternoon Yoga sessionsBe you a beginner or a practiced yogini, you will benefit from this gentle and simple movement. It is more about oiling the joints and keeping you moving, rather than tying yourself in knots and standing on your head! The practice starts relaxed, and gets more and more horizontal as the week goes by, as does most people's energy.
Nutritional TalksThese extremely popular daily talks are inspiring and empowering, and often show up as the high-point of people's week. Designed to give you a practical understanding of why many of our food and lifestyle choices work against us instead of for us. Once you know more about your body's inner workings, it becomes obvious what fuels are required. This is not a nutritional course - it is far more practical. Covering much more than just food, we will also attempt to clarify the difference between marketing spin and 'natural' products in order to make better educated choices on a everything from personal health, simplicity, awareness, and impact on the larger ecological environment.
Mutual SupportWhile we do not lead formal group sharing sessions, we do encourage our groups to share their experiences with each other in an empathetic way: There is much mutual support to be gained from others sharing your experience, both in the similarities and the differences. Our team are always on-hand to provide information and empathy. Moreover, each participant is invited to make an appointment with Kate, our life-coach / homoeopath, to explore if one's life can be made more rewarding, or simply to provide one-to-one support for whatever they bring.
